Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, conferred an honorary doctoral degree in Liberal Arts on ISHII Yoneo, the President of NIHU, for his achievements in cultural exchange between Japan and Thailand. The commencement was held on July 12 2007 at Chulalongkorn University, where Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn attended to award the diploma to him. Dr. Y. Ishii is the first Japanese scholar to receive an honorary doctorate in arts from the University.
