The Exchange with VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi

The National Institutes for the Humanities (NIHU) and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University (VNU-USSH), Hanoi, concluded a comprehensive exchange agreement on research and education in November 2019. Following a visit to the NIHU headquarters and the National Museum of Japanese History (Rekihaku) in November 2023, in February 2025, VNU-USSH faculty members and graduate students from the Department of Japanese Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, visited the International Research Center for Japanese Studies (Nichibunken).

The visiting VNU-USSH faculty, led by Dr. Hung Pham Hoang, head of the International Cooperation Office at the Hanoi campus, along with 10 graduate students, paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Shōichi Inoue, Director-General of Nichibunken. The university is also an international member of the Consortium for Global Japanese Studies," an initiative led by Nichibunken, and discussions were held regarding ideas for future collaborative research.

The group also toured the Nichibunken library, auditorium, and other facilities.

Finally, Visiting Professor Hiroaki Toyoda gave a special lecture titled "The structure of imperial palace and capital from the perspective of the three court system of the Zhou Dynasty and the changes of the concept of capital city."
